Raymond Veit Obituary Aged 78 in Lavaca County
Raymond Veit aged 78 years, 6 months, 14 days, died at his daughter’s home near Shiner after several days illness on February 12, 1938. Born in Baden Germany on August 29, 1859, he lived most of his life in Lavaca County. Survived by three daughters and five sons, funeral Mass at Shiner Catholic Church with interment in Shiner Catholic Cemetery. The well attended service honored a devout Catholic and respected neighbor.

Mrs Annie H Russell Dies After 83 Years In Community
Mrs Annie H Russell aged nearly 83 died after a brief illness. Born Annie Hemphill in 1856 near Kosciusko Mississippi she moved to Hallettsville with her family in 1872 and married H H Russell in 1875. She led Sunday school beginners for over two decades and was active in the Women's Christian Temperance Union. Surviving are her daughter Mrs T J Buchanan of Dickinson and several sons and grandchildren.
