Inquiry shows 60,436 bales of unsold cotton warehoused in Galveston today. The Galveston Cotton Compress and Warehouse Co holds 40,436 bales, Merchants and Planters 20,000, and Shippers Compress 7,000. If laid end to end the bales would stretch about 36 miles, averaging midling and 500 pounds each, valued at roughly 2.54 million dollars.
Commissioner Gro W Wahmann demands all road overseers of precincts 3 and 7 keep roads in good condition and file reports to the February term of the commissioners court. Those who fail will be dealt with according to law.
