Shiner High School Beats Moravia In League Basketball
The Shiner High School basketball team defeated Moravia on the Legion Park floor Tuesday night. Moravia, in its first year of basketball, showed improvement since a prior game with Shiner, under coach R J Strauss Jr. Hallettsville defeated Shiner 39 to 7 the prior Friday, with Shiner unable to find its rhythm. A large crowd attended, with pep squad and Shiner orchestra led by Mrs S A Thulemeyer.

Fire Company Presented Maps and Flexible Hose
The fire company showed four large city maps displaying building locations streets fire plugs and homeowner names. W J Tomasco received thanks for the mounted maps which aid in coordinating building data with fire plugs. The group tested a respirator and goggles and ordered four more respirators. City Council gave two 15 foot flexible hose connections for the Seagraves pumper, replacing stiff older links at a cost over two dollars per foot.
