Owner Joe Schindler extends gratitude for generous patronage while selling to Benjamin DeHarde. He asks friends and public to continue their support for the new proprietor.
Dr. Sylvan D. Kahn formerly of this city and Dr. Frank Kent of San Antonio form a partnership in Eye Ear Nose and Throat practice and take charge of the San Antonio office. Dr. Kahn recently completed a post graduate course on the Eye.
With rains ceasing, farms and gardens resume plowing. Farmers express relief as field work restarts and community cheer rises at the return to normal farming pace.
At Mrs. C Welhausen home the Civic League re elected Mra S A Thulemeyer as president O H Deutsch as vice president C B Welhausen as secretary and Peck Welhausen as treasurer They aim to adopt a regular program and plan a rest room for Shiner and rural women The Welhausen Park band stand received a fresh spring coat of paint through league efforts.
Mrs. C. B. Welhausen received a notice last week about her brother Walter Richter’s serious illness at the Naval Hospital in New York. Recent reports indicate more encouraging news.
The Shiner Commercial Club met last Thursday with large attendance to discuss a town fair this year. A committee was formed to gauge public support and secure funds, following the 1916 success that netted about 8600 dollars for road improvements.
