Mrs Lou Martin dies in San Antonio home
Mrs. Lou Martin, formerly of here, died suddenly of a heart attack on January 29 in San Antonio at age 80. Survived by son George T. Martin, brother Ike Griffith, and grandson George Gregory Griffin. daughter Mary Martin Griffin preceded her. Breslau and Hallettsville residents mourn the death of Otto Spies at 4 45 p m Saturday in Renger Hospital at age 69 A prominent Breslau Lutheran leader and member of the Sons of Herman and Modern Woodmen of the World he was born in Austin County and moved to Lavaca County about 45 years ago He married Katie Wolle in 1898 who died in 1941 Survivors include two sons and several stepchildren and grandchildren The funeral from his Breslau home to the Breslau Lutheran church was officiated by Rev E Jacobs with Rev H Zimmermann assisting The Beal Beck Funeral Home handled arrangements and pallbearers named in the notice The community expresses sympathy to the family.
