St Ludmila's Seniors gathered in the Parish Hall for an hour of amusement with a small orchestra and singing. Applause and compliments followed each number, led by favorites including O Da Lieber Augustine and Home Sweet Home. Net proceeds, 9.50, go to the fall fair.
Mr and Mrs Gus Seimg hosted a Sunday anniversary dinner marking their 22nd wedding anniversary and the 33rd for Mr and Mrs C C Henkhaus. Also present were Mr and Mrs B W Fehrenkamp and families Mr and Mrs E R Stach and Mr and Mrs W J Fehrenkamp and families of Meyersville. The Gazette extends congratulations and best wishes.
William Zappe underwent a serious operation at Temple hospital Tuesday of last week. He was accompanied by Mrs. Zappe Miss Beatrice and his brother E A Zappe. Dr and Mrs H Arthur Zappe of Mineral Wells were at his bedside. Mrs Zappe returned home Saturday morning with her son Bill Jr.
Mr and Mrs and their children from us Christi are visiting relatives in the area.
The Shiner Chamber of Commerce, led by Pres. J. C. Blohm, held a regular meeting to discuss financing a vocational instructor, promoting the upcoming 1982 Fair, and planning a special Feb 20 gathering at the new City Hall to push the effort. Officials considered requesting tariff support on imported oil and proposed a countywide push with the school board while urging business firms to join. The group also contributed $5 to support a representative at a Corpus Christi meeting opposing a $105 freight raise on tomato shipments.
Promptly at 12 o'clock the Business Men's Club will meet for a noon day lunch. Members urged to attend and pay February dues at this session.
E. J. Henkhaus and wife and A J Blohm and Shelly Canon visited from Houston over the weekend, staying locally to tour area sites and enjoy leisure time together.

Elo Wolters traveled to Dallas early this week on a business visit. He met with local executives to discuss potential collaborations and investment opportunities.
The Charlottenburg Sab County Meet is scheduled for Sunday February 21 at Charlottenburg School starting 1 PM. Three events are featured track and field Volley Ball for girls and declamation tryouts for all groups. Five schools pledged to participate with more expected. Bring contestants and enter as desired. The Lutheran Ladies Aid met on February 3 at 2 30 PM in Dr Martin Luther Church with 66 members and guests. President Aug Schramm led prayers and opening, minutes were approved, and an offering was sent to Lutheran Hospital Cuero. A trustee spoke, Mrs Pfenninger read a story, lunch followed in Luther Hall, next meeting March 2.
An assembly program arranged by Miss Reischl Mrs Leslie and Mr Butte was presented at the public school on February 4. The program featured Gay Valentine People first grade Piano Solo Minuet in G by Edna Luedecke One Act Play The Fresh man Party by George M Butte with James Burke Billy Plageman Clyde Ward Ralph Dreyer Aline Zappe Glenn Wagener and Erwin Stratman in the cast World premiere button hole bouquets for the first performance were donated by Mrs O H Deutsch The next assembly is February 11 at 9 o clock when try outs for the declamation team will declaim. The Lockhart Basketball team and coaches express appreciation to the Gazette for many courtesies. They are especially grateful for the cordial hospitality shown in the homes where they were guests during their time in the city.
School officials apologize for an oversight that omitted Julius Hollmann from the third quarter honor roll. His name belongs on the list and has now been included to correct the record.
