Postmaster G A Pannewitz urges rural delivery patrons to provide stamps in advance and not to place loose coins in boxes each time they mail. He asks patrons to keep a supply of stamps and to use sealable cups in boxes for coins to speed service on rural routes.
The Fox Minstrels perform under canvas in Shiner on February 10 11 and 12. County Superintendent Prof F P Guenther has sent uniform examination questions to all schools and all children must take the exam with answers due to the county superintendent by February 15.
In Karnes City Texas on February 3 about 11 am Gid and Charlie Mayfield fired at J C Goode at fifty five yards. Goode injured in the hip and died later. Mayfield brothers jailed. The incident follows Goode's 1906 killing of W S Mayfield and acquittal last November.
J C Goode, shot at Karnes City earlier today, arrived in San Antonio at 1 40 p m and died at Santa Rosa Hospital at 5 p m The body to be taken back to Karnes City tomorrow morning.
