Wreck Victim Edith Wells Dies From Injuries
Mrs Edith Anita Taylor Wells 40 office worker and Rice Institute drama director died at Wagner Hospital after a Friday morning auto crash on Highway Line between Shiner and Gonzales. She was en route to San Antonio to visit her mother Edith S Jones. Her father W Marshall Taylor and grandmother Mrs Frank Taylor were listed as relatives. Services were held in San Antonio with burial at Mission Burial Park.

Fifth Annual Trail Drive From Altair To San Antonio
The Texas Trail Riders Association leads 600 riders on a 135 mile five day trek from Altair to San Antonio to promote the Tenth Anniversary Stock Show and Rodeo February 13 to 22. Theo Dierksen Laid To Rest In Shiner After Long Illness
Theo Dierksen died January 31 1959 at age 80 after a seven year illness following a stroke. Funeral services were held February 2 1959 at Buffington Funeral Home and United Dr Martin Luther Church with burial in Shiner City Cemetery. Survivors include wife Bertha Rogge Dierksen son Raymond daughter Margaret and three grandsons. He was active in St Paul Lutheran Church and the Shiner Volunteer Fire Department.
