Mask Ball at Rocky Site Sets Dance Ticket Record
A mask ball at Rocky Site park last Saturday drew a very large crowd with good music and late dancing. Miss Libbie Marie Psencik won the first prize of 5 dollars, Miss Theresa Caka the second prize of 2.50 dollars, and George Ventura the booby prize of 1 dollar. A record 803 dance tickets were sold.

Weather remains fair with warm hints and a mild winter expected. Obituary reports Mrs Frank Gerum died in Shiner Hospital and was buried Monday at 4 PM in the O D H S Cemetery. J G Stevens, a Hopkins County farmer near Saltillo, grew long staple cotton of at least 1.5 inches. He refused 60 cents a pound for lint and $5 a bushel for seed, preferring neighbors buy seed at 2.50 to keep the variety local. The seed origins remain unknown, bought as unclaimed seed from an express office in 1920.
