The Gazette will not publish next week as customary during the holiday period. The office remains open except Christmas Day, with printing department orders for the New Year to be welcomed and promptly delivered. The Christmas magazine section adds 20 pages this week.
City officials announce no fireworks may be fired in Shiner's business district this Christmas. The marshal instructs vendors to inform buyers to leave the area before lighting fireworks to safeguard property.
The Good Will Edition carries Christmas and New Year messages from Shiner business men and firms to friends and customers. The home town paper serves as the medium for these greetings and seasonal cheer.
The Lavaca county to Flatonia segment of Highway 109 is slated for finish and work to begin soon with state financing. Judge Lueders traveled to Austin to plead for funds. the state will complete the road using its own money, likely with a gravel base and asphalt topping. About $12,000 from a county-held fund was used for rights of way and related work, and the state is expected to spend around $25,000 to finish four miles, with local optimism the project will be weathered before winter.
The church held multiple Christmas services with an English sermon at 12 10 a m and a Bohemian sermon at 10 a m. Confessions were available Wednesday December 23 before and after noon. Christmas day collections went to the diocesan seminary and orphans. Saturday December 26 featured a single 10 a m service with a Bohemian sermon.

The Methodist Sunday School presents a Christmas pageant titled Good Will Among Men on Christmas night December 25th at 7 o'clock. Following the program, attendees will enjoy the Christmas tree and Santa Claus.
The Shiner Volunteer Fire Department hosts its annual New Year's Eve ball at Bluecher Park on Thursday night December 31. Michna's orchestra will provide music as residents join the firemen in celebrating the year ahead. Everyone is invited to attend and support the fire boys.
Miss Edna Ladewig of Gonzales County earned blue ribbons for a cock, cockrel, and pullet at the Muskogee Oklahoma Poultry Show. Her birds also won first prize at the Dallas Fair, boosting Gonzales County’s reputation in 4-H poultry circles and signaling potential further blue ribbons at future shows.
A Timely Warning to the Vegetable Producers urges early fertilizer orders for 1932 crops. H R Blaschke, who handled last year, again takes bookings with a cutoff of December 30 for January 10 delivery. Vocational instructor W E Kingen calls for full attendance at evening and part time schools.
