Mrs Adelina Holdt died at age 50 after weeks of rheumatism. She leaves a husband and four grown children Will Holdt Mrs Paul Zacharias and Emma and Sophie at home. Interment was Tuesday at 4 pm in Shiner cemetery with Rev Wm Dziewas officiating.
The Methodist and Baptist Sunday schools host a Christmas tree on Christmas night at the Baptist church. Parents should send gifts by 3 PM Christmas Day. Children should attend for singing rehearsal. Mr Tom Hurta Sr died last Friday December 18 about 10 o'clock and was buried Saturday in Catholic cemetery.

Mr. Louie Ehlers returns from Waco for holidays while Adolph Bednar teaches in Austin Tiere for the season. Cadet boys Willie Wendt land Edgar Wolters and Gordon Nave arrived from Bryan to spend Christmas. The readers and subscribers are wished a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year with prosperity.
On or about January first the Sap will change the schedule of the passenger run. The Waco train will be arranged to meet the San Antonio Houston and Lockhart trains in accordance with the old schedule. A train from Waco will meet the Davy Crockett. Travelers are told the change will be greatly appreciated by the public.
In Yoakum Texas on December 18 at the home of the bride's parents Mr and Mrs W Huth near Yoakum the marriage of Alfred Otto and a daughter of the Huths was solemnized. The couple received congratulations from family and friends in attendance. The report notes a simple ceremony and a brief reception afterward at the residence.
Wendil Wendel of Shiner and Annie Tombs were married at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning near Yoakum by a Lutheran minister. The couple left for Nixon as their future home. In a separate Dec 15 ceremony at Mrs. August Stock's home, Wm Stock wed Ella Horn with Rev. Hudecek officiating.
A letter proclaims the purchase of a $700 stock of nice holiday goods at a sacrifice sale. Goods will be displayed in the iron front building opposite Schrams saloon. Call at once to secure items and there will be something for everybody.
