Freytag Family Marks 78 Years With Gazette
Walter Freytag of La Grange visited the Gazette office and shared that his parents Ludwig and Mrs. Freytag first subscribed in 1898 and the paper has stayed in the family since. After their deaths their daughter Norma Freytag continued the subscription, while Walter noted Otillie Maeker of Shiner died at 94.

Misc. Inc. in Shiner was burglarized in the early hours of Saturday December 18. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Yates left at midnight, making the theft time after their departure. Jewelry clothing novel ties and 94 dollars in cash were stolen. The break in was found at 9 AM by Mrs. C A Gilbert. Entry through the front door. items found at the rear. Loss estimated at 5500 dollars by the owner.
