Examin ing Trial Of Mack Miller In Shiner Court

Judge Lichey presided as Mack Miller, a Black man, faced an examining trial in Shiner Saturday morning. Sheriff Greer and McElroy transported him from Hallettsville jail. County Clerk Bozka attended. County Attorney Fertsch represented the state. Miller was remanded to await further action with no bond, likely to be returned to the penitentiary from which he escaped. He had been sentenced from Harris County in June 1924 for seven firearm robbery cases and one burglary case, receiving 55 years.
