The Commercial Club proposes hiring an engineer to survey roads into Shiner, estimate costs, and advise on materials then launch a campaign to issue bonds. The aim is to improve country and town roads so they withstand wet weather, benefiting local residents and businesses. Members urged to join and contact the secretary for a card.
The Shiner schools close for Christmas holidays on December 24. Mid term examinations begin Monday the 21st. Half day schedules will be observed for teachers on the final days before the break.
An ad shows a college comedy program titled After Jame. Reserved seats and admission are 35 cents for adults and 25 cents for children. After expenses are paid, half of receipts go to the school library.

Emil Pesek told the Heral d he weighed a county clerk job under Mr Sommerlatte but will remain in banking. He says he cannot work with Sommerlatte yet wishes Hallettsville friends success and trusts Lavaca County voters chose an officer to render loyal service.
Mrs Ida Kure nee Schmidt from Hempstead arrives to spend Christmas with her mother Mrs CG J Schmidt at the City hotel.

The Twentieth Century Club met with Miss Koch on Thursday afternoon. Members answered roll call with Christmas Sentiments and discussed Christmas Giving. A committee led by the acting President and secretary was formed to recommend officers.
