The Farmers Agricultural Association will meet at 7 30 tonight at the City Auditorium. All farmers growing cotton are urged to attend to receive last minute voting instructions for Friday the 14th and to bring others.

Accident Injures 20-Year-Old Tom Darilek in Witting Incident

Tom Darilek, 20, was accidentally shot Saturday near Witting around 3 pm and rushed to the local hospital. By Tuesday he showed signs of consciousness, with the left side of his head torn by the discharge, rendering him deaf. later his right side became paralyzed. Miss Annie Winzig of Flatonia serves as special nurse. The gun accident occurred while he paused at a friend's home during a hunt and leaned over as his gun slipped, causing the injuries and his critical condition.

Banjes Club Plans December Meeting in Shiner

The Banjes Home Demonstration Club will meet in Shiner on December 17 at 1 30 P M at the home of Mrs Henry Goetz. Members are invited to attend and participate in the home demonstration session.

The Women's Wesley Bible Class of the Methodist Sunday School sponsors a Christmas Eve carol singing event at 10 PM in front of the Methodist church. At the Wednesday meeting of December 6 the Shiner Fire Department elected officers for the ensuing year led by President Ed Herder and Chief Ad Richter. Peck Welhausen was named Assistant Chief and Treasurer, with John E. Valenta as Chief Mechanic, Foreman and Pumper. Other officers include W C Schmidt secretary Hy Hirsch foreman Hose Company Chas Kloss assistant foreman Hy See chief of Chemical and John E Kasper assistant foreman.

A December 3 kitchen shower for bride elect Julia Mae Macha hosted by Mrs. Wilson Macha featured a white and green decor in the Royal Cafe dining alcove.
