Mr G W Hinchenberg attended to business in Schulenburg Monday afternoon despite bad roads. Theodore Wolters remains home sick with erysipelas but much improved. Louis Melcher, longtime Engle beer merchant, has filed for bankruptcy and Schulenburg friends wish him well. A group of nine Bohemians led by John Wangler and Peter Barbarak arrived from Moravia Austria and will reside again in Moravia Lavaca county where they have relatives. The piece also notes farm wisdom and politics with a remark on Washingtons upcoming show and frost affecting the cotton crop coastal Beeville and Beeville area with no new cotton maturing.
