Artistic program at National Book Week drawn praise despite small crowd

A Twentieth Century Club event for National Book Week drew a small audience but high praise. Highlights included masterful choral work led by Mrs. Joe Hughs, violin duos Geo Butte and James V. Michna, and guest artist Mrs. Beta Humbursky Leazar whose Bohemian songs impressed. A one act play by Mrs. Edward Berckenhoff featured Annie Louise Plageman and Emmett Busch with skilled supporting roles.
