Henry Reichardt Rites Held at Buffington Funeral Home
Funeral services were held for Henry Reichardt at Buffington Funeral Home in Shiner. He died at 5 45 p.m. Monday at age 84 years 10 months 29 days. Burial followed in Shiner City Cemetery with services conducted November 30 at 2 00 p.m. The obituary appears in the next issue.

Freak Fire Destroys Hay On Henry Schacherl Farm
Shiner firemen fought a rural blaze at the Henry Schacherl farm after high winds caused an electric fence to short and ignite dry hay and feed. The fire damaged baled hay and half the storage feed, with officials calling the incident a freak fire of undetermined origin.

Heart Model Presented To Shiner Schools
In appreciation of aid from the February 1955 Heart Fund Drive Lavaca County Heart Association presents a four times life size rubber plastic heart model to Shiner's three schools. Don G. Kaspar and Dr. Robert J. Wagner present the gift. the model features hinged openings, color coded parts, and a flow guide for blood through heart and lungs. The model will circulate among schools and be permanently housed in the city science program.

Rites Held Friday For F. J. Guettner
Funeral services for Frank J. Guettner were held at the Buffington Chapel with Rev. Edwin J. Oehlke officiating. He died November 23 after a week in Wagner Hospital at age 67. Buried in Shiner, he lived near town his whole life and leaves a large family including Minnie Goetz, five children Frank E. and Milton Guettner, Edwin F. Guettner, Wylie Guettner, and Mrs. Elton Janssen, plus nine grandchildren and siblings.

Rites Held for J J Kresta in Gonzales
Final rites were held Wednesday at St James Catholic Church Gonzales for J J Kresta with Rev Joseph Mathey presiding. Interment followed in Catholic Cemetery after a Rosary at Baker Funeral Home. He died Nov 21 after heart trouble and witnessing a nearby accident that left Jim Hobital dead. He was born April 12 1889 in Lavaca County. He was survived by wife Frances Maloch three sons two daughters and multiple siblings.

Otto Strauss Sr a longtime Shiner resident died November 22 at age 73. Funeral services were held November 24 at Buffington Funeral Home and St Cyril and Meth God Church. Interment in Shiner Catholic Cemetery. Survivors include wife Agnes five sons Henry Ben Otto Joe Victor two sisters 26 grandchildren.
