Memorial Services for Mrs. C. C. Amsler
The Shiner Baptist Church will hold memorial services for Mrs. C. C. Amsler on Sunday August 29 during the 9:00 a.m. Sunday School hour and 10:00 a.m. gospel message hour. Mrs. Amsler died September 30 1953 and was buried October 2. She supported the church through the Woman’s Missionary Union and gifts including a farm deed that funded church painting parsonage debt relief and pulpit chairs. The pastor Rev. J W Clanton will preside and speak a tribute.

Graveside Rites Held Monday for Dick Mueller
Graveside services were conducted in Shiner Monday afternoon for Dick A. Mueller 79 after funeral services at Freund Funeral Home Cuero. He died in a San Antonio hospital after months of illness from a fractured leg. Survived by wife a son Randolph James and a daughter Mrs Clarence Green two grandchildren from Nacogdoches. He was a native Shinerite who spent his latter years in Yorktown then lived in Cuero retired ten years ago. Relatives from Shiner and Austin attended. Mueller born in Igh Hill Fayette County son of Andreas and Anna Fortkamp Mueller married Gertrude Frances Maria in Yorktown last of a 13 child family.

Otto Glatzert Dies From Heart Attack at 58
Otto Adolf Friederich Glatzert, 58, died suddenly at a local hospital on Monday August 23. Funeral services were held August 24 at Buffington Funeral Home in Shiner with interment in Shiner City Cemetery. He was born April 7, 1896 in Edna Jackson County and was a painter by trade. He married Elsa Ida Hoerig in 1916. she preceded him in death in 1950. Survivors include his mother, two daughters, five grandchildren, four brothers, and one sister. Funeral rites were conducted by Reverend Edwin J. Oehlke.
