Hyde Park Aug 38 The American Legion informed President Roosevelt of battle orders to unite 10 760 posts in immediate sessions to aid the national recovery administration and support its goals. Legion national commander Louis Johnson declared these are battle orders and Roosevelt replied with faith in loyal legionnaires.

Governor Miriam A Ferguson named Mrs. Will T. Bagby of Balliettsville as superintendent of the Confederate Woman's Home, to take over Sept. 1 from long time head Mrs. S. J. Thomas. Shiner Hatchery Opens Fall Hatching Season

Lavaca County farmers will obtain 47330.84 dollars from the U S government for cotton destroyed in the cotton reduction campaign.
