Washouts disrupt Lockhart rail line near Slayden
The Aransas Pass railroad branch around Slayden at Ottine suffered severe washouts tearing up two to three miles of track. A local freight crew and about 10 laborers began repairs but by noon had only reached Slayden. The Aransas line comes in from Lockhart via the Southern Pacific through Luling and Haswood.
