A five dollar donation was made to the annual parish picnic and ten dollars to the national headquarters. Alvin Vaclavik and son brought in the season's first bale at Buske Gin weighing 612 pounds with 990 pounds of seed. The bale classed strict middling and sold for 400 a pound to James Burke, plus premium and seed proceeds totaling 287.07 dollars. A second bale of 480 pounds with 860 pounds of seed followed at Farmers Coop Gin, sold for 40 cents per pound plus seed value totaling 211.35 dollars.
