XX Century Club Hosts Gathering in Galveston
Mrs Eoan Wilkins of Galveston entertained the XX Century Club at her mother's country home on Thursday afternoon. Most members attended despite weather changes with guests Mrs J C Habermacher and Mrs Grasshoff. Refreshments of ice cream and cake followed by a lively card game. Mrs Wilkins was assisted by her mother Mrs Sam McMurrey and her sister Miss Sarah McMurrey.

Army bands to play at San Antonio carnival
Congress has not yet made a law to ban army bands from civic events but the Uncle Sam band will perform at the San Antonio Spring Carnival and Battle of Flowers in the Alamo City from April 20 to 25 with a large music appropriation funding many concerts.

Quiet City Election Elects New Mayor and Officials
The city election passed with no contests. Louis Trautwein was elected mayor by a large majority.
