Burn County Bonds Consent Burned In Public Show

Hamilton and Tipton counties held a joint session in Noblesville on September 26 approving burning 37 000 county bonds redeemed at the Old Settlers meeting to be held October 12. W T Wheeler will speak on county finances followed by bond burning and speakers plus music. The Hamilton County Historical Society also plans an exhibit of pioneer relics during the event.

Thanksgiving Turkeys Scarce Amid Broad Poultry Shortage

Local produce dealers report a national Thanksgiving turkey shortage due to cold wet conditions earlier in the year. Prices are expected to be high though other poultry varieties remain plentiful. The skating rink at the old opera house room opened Saturday with good attendance and plans for three public nights weekly.
