Noblesville Indiana September 21 1922 special session of the Board of Commissioners awarded bids for two northern county gravel roads. Trustees faced resignations as Ble Pardue remained hospital head. New superintendent Rey Huggins took charge while bids from Reason Meare Ramsey Pickett Jessup were discussed and many were rejected for the Rune and Brehm road projects.

Street improvements proposed for Sheridan were stalled after the notices were invalidated for improper wording and failure to file plans and specifications ten days prior as required by law. New notices will be published and another attempt made to start the improvements. Taxpayers attended, some objecting to roadway width.

County Red Men Organization Formed in Noblesville
A county organization of Red Men was launched at Noblesville Friday night with E. R. Norton as chairman and A. M. Stephenson as secretary. The group plans a county wide membership drive and the first meeting will be in Sheridan on October 4, with the adoption degree conferred by the Noblesville team.

J C Richards Buys Second Street Residence
J C Richards of Sheridan rural route four purchased the M A Davenport residence just west of the Methodist church on Second street for 3500 dollars. Possession is set for October first. Dr F T Wilson currently occupies the property. Cox Cooper agency arranged the deal.

Big English Clover Seed Record Claimed by Farmer Pickett
John W. Pickett thrashed twenty five bushels from five acres, a record for Big English clover seed in the locality. At eight fifty a bushel, the crop would net about two hundred forty two dollars and fifty cents.

Kirklin man fined for driving with open muffler
Merlin Hutchinson of Kirklin was fined 17.45 for driving with an open muffler in Sheridan last week. He was arrested by Marshal Henderson and given a hearing by Squire Steffey.

Sheridan Gas Company drills new well near Minnie Stahl farm
The Sheridan Gas Company brought in a good well at 1033 feet on the Minnie Stahl farm southwest of Sheridan and plans another drill site north of this location. Since year start the firm has drilled three holes with two producers, compared with nine holes last year yielding three modest wells, valuable to locals reliant on gas.

Deal for Second Street garage sale underway
Negotiations are underway this week for the sale of ground on Second and Main streets formerly used by Johnsons garage and owned by H B Johnson to C R Kercheval. The ground fronts Second and extends to Main with a corner lot owned by Claud Deakyne. Kercheval will rebuild the garage for Becker and Horoho of the Central Garage who will occupy it once finished.

W. R. Kercheval buys back the grocery and meat market at Main and Fifth from the Big Four Grocery Company and will take possession October second. Arthur Addams, the manager, returns to Frankfort to continue with the company. Kercheval previously sold the store to Frankfort residents about three years ago.

Farmer J. E. West Hurt in Wagon Accident Near Antioch
J E West a 75 year old Boone county farmer living near Antioch church was thrown from a wagon when the team bolted and suffered five broken ribs and a concussion. He was unconscious and treated by Dr. Tucker of Elizaville after the incident on Monday afternoon. His wife is critically ill.

Death of Sheridan businessman H D Newby after illness
H D Newby 37, active youth in Sheridan, died Sunday at home after weeks with a complication of diseases. He led Newby Construction, was a Woodmen of the World member, and leaves a widow, two daughters and a son. Funeral at Antioch church with burial in Crown View.
