The second annual Kercheval reunion gathered about eighty relatives at DS. 8. Kercheval's grave site on September 15 and at a noon feast with distant kin from Brewersville Coffeyville and Ohio. Speakers, music, and a history talk highlighted the day, with Mr Asbury Kerwood sharing ancestral notes and Mrs N Kercheval McClure sending regards from Idaho.

The Town Board met in regular session with all members present and approved bills including four 0. Pearson water boxes and Sheridan Gas Oil and Coal Co. Two representatives from the Government Building and Loan Co. sought removal of a band stand at the old Central Hotel corner. A committee was named to aid Galveston sufferers. Tax levy set for general fund two cents, street fund twenty cents, schoolhouse bonds twenty cents, electric lights in cents, and poll tax twenty five cents. Walks ordered on Adis Creek from 4th to east side and from 6th to 6th battle sides.

Arthur A Gifford died Sunday evening the 16th at his sister’s home in Nebraska after a battle with consumption. Born in Boone county and raised near Joliet, he worked in Denver and Chicago before joining his brother in Sheridan’s drug business. He married Cassie McGilvery a year ago and left a infant child. Surviving are two brothers John and Sanford and sister Mrs Stella Klepser. Funeral by Knights of Pythias with Rev O V L Harbour services at the McGilvery residence and burial at Eagle Creek cemetery.

Corps Ladies Enjoy Social Evening At Mrs McCorys Home
Last Saturday afternoon the Relief Corps announced that Mrs. McCory would host a Corps Ladies gathering at her Mon day evening following. About twenty five attended despite telephone outages from a wind storm. The hostesses served cake ice cream and coffee as the group shared games and thanks from the President in a harmonious closing.

Albert Payne Guilty of Fraudulent Marriage Scheme
The circuit court convicted Albert Payne of Sheridan for fraudulent marriage to evade paternity actions. A jury set a $500 fine. Prosecuted at his wife’s request, Payne allegedly deserted her and failed to support them. This marks the second such conviction in a week.
