Noblesville September 19 1918 the local draft board reports 2683 men aged 18 to 45 registered in Hamilton County last Thursday for military service Of these 2578 registered at precinct boards 104 by mail. No one aged 21 to 31 registered and 110 listed 45 while 99 marked 18. West Westfield precinct led with 84 registrants. Four Noblesville precincts followed. Forty seven colored men registered and ten were foreign born with Greece Hungary Sweden Canada and Italy among origins. A request to send one colored man to Camp Curtis Battle Creek Sept 25 was advised if a Class 1 colored registrant exists. Other notes include divorces and court actions with local residents in Noblesville.

Fine Youngs Man Is Dead
Lowell boatman 27, eldest son of W. H. Boatman, died at his father’s home on South Ohio Street Monday morning from tuberculosis after a lingering illness. He spent months at Rockville Sanitarium seeking relief. Survived by wife and one daughter. Funeral at Methodist church Wednesday morning with burial at Crown View cemetery. A fine young man with a wide circle of friends.

Hamilton County Civil War Soldiers Reunite in Noblesville
Noblesville hosted the thirteenth annual Hamilton County civil war soldiers reunion with about 100 attendees the largest turnout. Oscar Brown of Westfield was the oldest present and Andrew Berg of Cicero the youngest. Adams township records note several deaths including Alfred Srite George Starrett Stephen Moulton Hiram T Grayson and John Beals.

Tomato crop yields big price for three acres
