Injured Man Sues Over Leaky Engine at Mill

John Lee filed suit in the circuit court against Oscar Scott Charles Scott and the J I Case Threshing Machine Company for 5 000. He alleges the Scotts sold a faulty engine with a leaky throttle valve causing sudden startup and severe injuries to his right hip while firing a saw at his Schelesville area mill on May 23 1907. Lee lists medical costs sickness pain and crippling as damages.

Stevenson chosen for high honor at Chicago University voyage

Clark Stevenson son of Mr and Mrs W Stevenson of near Terhune has been selected for a prestigious position at Chicago University. He and Prof Riddle head to Bermuda and the West Indies for three months of plant and animal research, returning via the St Lawrence and Thousand Islands. Stevenson is a Terhune local graduate majoring in Zoology.

The town lacks a suitable venue after the opera house was acquired by the skating rink managers. The theatre business has stalled and campaign events, entertainments, and public meetings have no home unless a new venue is built soon.
