The Indiana State Fair in Indianapolis runs all week with steady attendance from the local area. Thursday is the favored day in memory, yet visitors attend other days. Last year over 500 tickets were sold, with this year slightly under that count. Wednesday drew many local horsemen due to a Sheridan horse in the 215 trot, Fred C. owned by Frank Colby and driven by Lynch was expected to perform well.
The Sheridan Poultry Association postponed its annual show by one week due to the State show in Indianapolis. Marion Cash and family left for Coffeyville, Kansas yesterday morning.

Real estate market remains robust as the Ed Lane residence at Ohio and Third is sold to J. R. Waller for 1650 dollars and the G. C. King property on Second Street transfers to Chas. R. Crawford for 700 dollars. Both parcels were sold via HE. E. Newby Real Estate Company.
John Lee filed suit in the circuit court against Oscar Scott Charles Scott and the J I Case Threshing Machine Company for 5 000. He alleges the Scotts sold a faulty engine with a leaky throttle valve causing sudden startup and severe injuries to his right hip while firing a saw at his Schelesville area mill on May 23 1907. Lee lists medical costs sickness pain and crippling as damages.
Clark Stevenson son of Mr and Mrs W Stevenson of near Terhune has been selected for a prestigious position at Chicago University. He and Prof Riddle head to Bermuda and the West Indies for three months of plant and animal research, returning via the St Lawrence and Thousand Islands. Stevenson is a Terhune local graduate majoring in Zoology.
The town lacks a suitable venue after the opera house was acquired by the skating rink managers. The theatre business has stalled and campaign events, entertainments, and public meetings have no home unless a new venue is built soon. A stock company was proposed last year but dropped and has not returned.
Sheridan High School shows a strong team outlook with five or six returning players and new talent. Captain Kimble aims for the state championship as schedules form and early practice begins on the first day of school.
Walter Edwards returns from his New Mexico claim and plans to move his family after selling on the 24th. He reports the Hoosier colony there thriving. Prof. Geo Teter leaves for Cambridge to enter Harvard University and will visit the Jamestown Exposition en route.
The Flora and Flora Bringhurst team called off the game scheduled today between the Alcos and Flora Bringhurst yesterday citing several reasons. Sheridan fans fear the teams have an attack of the yellows and the local management will not reconsider.
