George W. Myers Dies After Long Cancer Battle
George W. Myers, an early Sheridan businessman who later lived in Anderson, died at his home last Saturday at age 76 after a cancer illness. He once ran a heading factory in Sheridan and later operated similar ventures in Frankfort before moving to Anderson. He is survived by his widow Clara and two children, Mary and William, a Chicago realtor. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at his home.

Westfield Man Fined for Speeding in Court

The Johnson soy bean harvester completed late last week is now on display at the State Fair. It will be sent to Paul Christian of Edinburg Indiana after the fair and another unit will go to Madison Wisconsin for the National Soybean Growers Association meeting. Prof Briggs of Wisconsin University urged display and offered to cover transport. Plans to invite bean growers to view the machine on its farm when the crop matures. A variety planted earlier by Mr Johnson to test earlier maturing beans, with rains delaying harvest, as Rushville farmers report shifting from oats to beans and finding profit.

Mrs Shoemaker Injured In Auto Accident Near Ranchester
Mrs William Shoemaker of Sheridan Indiana suffered a bad laceration to her right leg below the knee when the car carrying her husband and their 14 year old son went into a ditch north of Sheridan Ranchester. The car not overturned the windshield glass caused the cut. They expected to resume journey by rail later in the week while Mrs Shoemaker is treated at Sheridan Memorial hospital.

Township Tax Levy Moves Forward In Adams Township
The township advisory board has met and levied the tax rate at ten cents on the hundred dollars for the coming year. Adams township is assessed at about six million dollars. The levy splits into six funds including a special school fund, tuition, township, library, county poor farm, and road fund. Last year’s levy stood at seventy cents, three cents higher than this year.

Out of Danger in Japan Earthquake
Mrs Ana stasia Cox Krider formerly of Sheridan was in Nagasaki with her husband Mr Krider while the great earthquake struck. Tokio and Yokohama suffered the worst damage and an estimated 250000 lives were lost. Mr Krider is engaged in missionary work in Japan.

Eagletown Home Destroyed by Fire
Fire in Eagletown early Friday destroyed the eight room home of Orval Eskew, thought caused by a coal oil stove explosion. Neighbors helped fight the blaze and Eskew, ill for weeks, was carried from the house as furnishings were lost.
