Local ad touts daily direct imports of watches diamonds jewelry sterling silver and cut glass from eastern factories with the largest stock in the county at low prices. Optical department features a graduate optician with 20 years of experience offering free examinations and candid treatment advice, warning against traveling fakes.
The Moore law was upheld as constitutional in a battle over liquor licenses, barring Sheridan’s Saloon from operating for two years pending a remonstrance. Appellants including J DR Lanham challenged the ruling, with ALO Pearson representing them before the Supreme Court. The decision hinges on the remonstrance process and eligibility to obtain a license.
Rothchild sues the town of Sheridan to collect three orders totaling 1981.83 alleging they were issued by the town board to Fr Wayne Electric and then transferred to Henry Rothchild. He seeks 1540 in judgment while boards have long treated the claim as a nuisance and resisted payment.

John Harris longtime county pioneer died at his son Ben Harris home in Sheridan on Saturday night from hemorrhage of the bowels. Born in 1812 in Kentucky he moved west and helped develop the county becoming famed as a crack rifle shot. He fathered 26 children and endured poverty in later years. Interment was in Spencer cemetery with family rites.
Emery Wiles, about 35, a railroad inspector, died in Brooklyn and was interred at Crown View cemetery after services at the Christian church. He was brought to Sheridan Wednesday and laid with his sister Mrs. John Ridge. Immediate family includes step mother Mrs. Asa Wiles and siblings Mrs. E. E. Phillips, Mrs. Date Phillips of Noblesville, and Henry Ridge.
John Ferguson of Scircleville and Mrs Eien Truby of this place were married at Noblesville Monday. After the ceremony they go to New York to visit relatives before returning to Scirclesville where Ferguson is postmaster. Mrs Truby is the widow of the late Mike Truby, a Sheridan figure.
A Wisconsin hunting party including Enochworley Ben Wheeler Anson Wm Bell Shube Millikan and John Haines returned home disappointed after a trip north. They killed three deer two by Millikan and one by Bell, blaming bad weather heavy snow and a prior hunting party with dogs for scarce game.
Charles F. Kirby and Edith E Barnes wed Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home of the bride's mother Mrs N F Vickery. Rev Owens of Spicewood officiated. Both reside in Sheridan and are highly regarded.
