The store celebrates its first anniversary with a sale tomorrow offering a liberal discount on all cash sales. Footwear for men and women from International Walk-Over and Queen Quality brands will be showcased with souvenirs for attendees.
The council met Monday night approving bills for legal fees printing supplies labor gravel and more totaling numerous payments. The session extended to November 30 with plans to reorganize as a financial board under a new depository law. Rent discussion for the council room was deferred to the next meeting.
The county will see the newly issued $10 gold pieces dated 1907. Distinct from prior government issues, the Liberty head bears feathers in Indian style with the date and thirteen stars. G. H. Palmer found a binder wheel can be used on an automobile after a high speed crash at Bakers Corner. He struck a fence, damaged a front wheel, then procured a wheel from a binder and drove home in the same vehicle. Some objections exist to this improvised repair method.
Mrs Mary A Steelsmith aged 79 died at her Boone County home near Center Schoolhouse last Friday morning after fever complications. She left six sons and two daughters with two sisters Mrs James Moore and Mrs Jacob Moore. Body shipped to Abilene Kansas where husband and three sons are buried and where daughters and Mr and Mrs Moore join the procession.
Sheridan posted two touchdowns and two goals in a hard fought victory over Elwood and Westfield. Fumbles plagued the home team though they matched the visitors scoring in the first half and showed they can contend with Indiana polis rivals.
Claimants across the state vie for the State High School Championship with Sheridan seen as strong. The Sheridan team defeated Anderson 12 to 5 while Manual beat Anderson 11 to 5 and Shortridge 6 to 0, sparking talk of a Thanksgiving game possibly against Manual. The team will rest tomorrow with no game scheduled.
Noblesville auditor appoints Eli Stalker to complete the late Ira Stanbrough’s unexpired term as Washington township trustee. Stalker, a former trustee, will assume duties immediately and aims to carry out Stanbrough’s policies for about two years. Also reported is a large mortgage filing by Noblesville Heat Light and Power Company with Union Trust for 150000 dollars.
S. R. Spencer attended the funeral of Ira Stanbrough a Washington township trustee at Westfield on Saturday. Seven other trustees were present and served as pallbearers. Interment was at Chester Cemetery north of Westfield.
