Milton Hanson filed suit against Westfield trustees seeking an injunction to prevent an election unless The Citizens Ticket emblem was printed on ballots. Judge Vestal granted a restrictive order, forcing ballots to include all Citizens Ticket candidates and other certified tickets. Overnight polls reportedly favored The Citizens Ticket as turnout began after reorganizing the election board. Special county session approved gravel road expenses. road work slowed by heavy rain. Capital Circuit Traction Company plans to extend franchise to 1913, with funding hopeful after 1907 panic.
Three day Halloween season closes with masked parades and late night pranks. Some road obstructions by barricades annoy travelers. soap and corn nights provoke property damage and injuries, though no serious harm reported.
A recent Saturday cow sale drew many buyers. Thirty cattle averaged about 37 dollars with some reaching 60 while others sold for 24. Total sales approached 1100 dollars.

John H. Stafford died at his home near Pickards early Monday at age 77. He was born October 3, 1832 in Henry County and lived in Hamilton County near Noblesville. He married Martha Mendenhall in 1854 and later Tevea D Hunt in 1864, producing several children. Interment followed at the Friends graveyard near Kirklin. He moved about twenty eight years ago to this community. He is survived by one brother Joel Stafford of Noblesville.
The election produced a near split result with Democrats electing two councilmen A A Henderson and Simeon Cox while Republicans won John McCarty and A C Scott as Trustee. The marshal race was a dead heat Baldwin and Thistlethwaite each 168 with Stout at 6&. turnout included 415 voters across 404 to the top office. The election passed quietly with no major issues and calls for tie resolution ranged from new election to by lot.
At a special meeting of the election commissioners and Board Francis Baldwin the Republican nominee was declared the marshal elect. Ten ballots were placed in a hat nine blank one marked marshal. on the fifth draw Baldwin was selected by Robbins.
