Mrs Naomi Forkner, 76, died at her Bakers Corner area home Saturday night from a coughing spell. Three physicians failed to help. The case filed in Boone circuit court seeks to void assessments for repair and extension of the Mendenhall and Starrett ditch in Adams township. Plaintiffs allege funds were diverted to a new drain beyond sixty two feet, and request an injunction against collection while labeling the assessments fraudulent.

Rev Eber Teter was re elected Missionary Secretary of the Wesleyan Methodist Church at the Fairmount Convention last week. The four year term covers the United States two Canadian provinces and Western Africa as he travels to all parts of the country. Since his tenure schools have been founded in the south and at Fairmount.
On November 7 the ditch commissioners of the Thistlethwaite drain will meet in the law office of Pearson and Pearson. Objections to the ditch have been overcome and former opponents are now in favor. John Jessup and wife journeyed to Iowa Falls Wednesday and will stay all winter.
Next week marks the second month of school and a conflict delays the Friday November 8 parents and visitors day with plans to announce a new date and program later. Football preparations are underway for a Washington Park Indianapolis game against Marion High School.
A Sunday night incident near Bakers Corner reports drivers ignored red lights on a new creek bridge and plunged about 10 feet into the water. No details on those involved or damages are available.
