State Grows School Population Amid Rural Gains Decline

Fall from pole injures Elizaville man
Fred Coy of Elizaville, an employee of The Central Indiana Telephone Company, fell about 25 feet from a telephone pole in east town on Saturday morning. The pole broke, causing the fall and pinning him. He was brought home Monday to recover and will be confined for some time.

Samuel Wallingford former Adams Township resident died Sunday in Oklahoma. A telegram to Mrs. Frank Griffith from Sam L. Wallingford of Altus, Oklahoma informed of his father’s death. The Wallingfords lived on a Sheridan area farm for years and both had died in recent years.

Local Graduates to Complete Indiana Dental College
Sheridan students Fred Wilson Leonard Kercheval Clyde Briggs and Clark Richardson will graduate from the Indiana Dental College next week. Commencement is at Knights of Pythias hall Indianapolis on June 5. John H. Cox was chosen to represent the Ninth district at the national encampment in Los Angeles following the state encampment in South Bend last week.

Effective July first the Sheridan post office will move from third to second class after an inspector's review. Growth has surpassed 8000 in annual business, triggering the upgrade with a $200 postmaster salary increase and Civil Service coverage for staff. Henry Dickey becomes assistant postmaster at 700 yearly. Miss Caldwell earns 600, both rising 200 next year.

Bad Seed Corn Delays Replanting Across Township
