Lightning Ignites Branson Home in Georgia Street Fire
A lightning storm last Friday near North Georgia street caused a house fire that destroyed the Branson residence. The bolt struck around 2 o'clock, neighbors reported the blaze, and delays in contacting the fire bell worsened the loss. Firefighters and a bucket brigade saved surrounding homes but the top floor was unrecoverable. Loss estimated at 3000 to 4000 dollars with 2000 dollars covered by insurance. The Bransons, away at a convention, learned of the fire by telegram and returned home. Criticism of telephone responses arose, though workers cited safety rules during storms.

Pritsch Named Census Bureau Clerk in Washington
