Oneridan Night At Radio Station Highlights Local Meeting
Sheridan residents will hear a Hatfield Radio program broadcast from Indianapolis next Wednesday at 8 30 pm. The Sheridan library basement provides free seating for the public to listen to Mac s Orchestra and vocal performances by Jewel Wilson Mae s Orchestra and others as local talent features. The program will reach about 800 miles with voices of Rev Wolff and Ora Ridge among participants at the State Haymakers Association gathering in Terre Haute.

A duckling hatched Tuesday at the William Shull farm surprised the News office on Wednesday with four legs and two tails. Despite the odd appearance, the duckling appeared healthy and spry for its age.

Large Barn Burns Near Big Spring
A large Cloud Bowers farm barn half a mile north of Big Springs burned Friday at about eight o'clock. Twelve hundred bushels of corn and three hundred bushels of oats, hay, and tools were lost. Mr Bowers saw the blaze while near the barn and could not stop it. Loose matches are suspected. Insurance partly covered the loss.

Howard Mikels, brother of Levi Mikels of Sheridan, died at his Indianapolis home Sunday at noon from ptomaine poisoning. The funeral will be held at the residence Wednesday morning.

Noblesville man Horace Pettijohn dies at 63
Horace Pettijohn of Noblesville died Sunday morning at Hamilton County Hospital after a long lung ailment. The funeral was held at his home Tuesday with Rev. C. E. Line, and burial followed in Sheridan. He was born in Deming and lived in multiple counties, active in politics as county treasurer and Noblesville township assessor, and a Knights of Pythias and Red Men member. Survived by wife, adopted daughter, five brothers and one sister. Brothers include Dr. O. B. Pettijohn Noblesville and Theo of Sheridan. sister-in-law Mrs T. J. McMurtry of Boxley. The Sheridan band opened its season with plans for weekly summer concerts if funds allow.
