Hamilton county officials discuss building a Rock Road project in Noblesville Indiana amid calls by business leaders for a clear public vote. Debates center on local option politics and whether a township election should decide the road once and for all.
About 150 members and guests attended the Sheridan Alumni Association twenty-fifth annual meeting in the K of P hall. A home talent program featured Ed Osborn Byron Moody Mrs Kirk Gretchen Lanham and a senior class three act comedy. Parr's orchestra provided music and the evening ended with social time after five year class divisions. Dr F T Wilson will attend the Indiana State Dental meeting in Indianapolis next week.
Sheridan high school dominated the Rushville meet, taking first with 41 points while Westfield 36 and Shelbyville 22. Richardson of Sheridan and Armstrong of Westfield led individual scoring as eight records fell, signaling Sheridan as a top state meet contender at Indianaopolis. The event began at 1 50 p m at Federal baseball park with finals in sprint events.
Nine assessors finished listing property and are now preparing books for the final report. Footings are not yet made, so changes in values cannot be known until the Board of Review finishes. Minor shifts in real estate values expected. personal property likely similar to last year. The Board of Review meets the first Monday in June.
A two day alfalfa tour in Boone County will cover north and south routes. The north route on Tuesday departs Sheridan at 8 30 A M with about fifty cars and stops at the Crane farm for lunch to view a dairy barn Guersey cattle and prime alfalfa fields. Tuesday schedule lists participants from Milford Evans to A Wysong. Wednesday the 19th serves Jamestown Farmers Club with a nine o clock start from the Bank in Jamestown and visits to Dayton Montgomery Bush Vaughn Price Graham and Robertson. Lunch urged to be packed. Information lines provided for both days.
May crop report from the Bureau of Crop Estimates shows winter wheat at 693 million bushels for 1915, up from 684 million last year. Indiana is projected to produce 47 million bushels, up from 43 million in 1914, with higher spring plowing and planting activity. Wheat prices May 1 averaged $1.45, corn $0.72, oats $0.53, and potatoes $0.56, compared with last year.
