Noblesville Indiana May 10 1917 Aldis Bailey a Sheridan boy was acquitted of petit larceny by a circuit court jury after a brief trial He did not testify and witnesses said he was seen in the Sheridan garage after a fire but the circumstantial evidence failed to prove guilt. The pipe later found in the Sheridan cooler was not enough for conviction.

Boy Shot In The Foot In Accidental Hunting Incident
Parker Harvey twelve son of James Harvey living in the southwest part of town was accidentally shot in the left foot Wednesday afternoon. He and two other boys Earl Ridge and Jimmy Walton were sniping on damp grounds. The Walton gun went off as Ridge picked it up, the charge struck near the base of the small toe and the toe had to be amputated when dressed.

First Of It's Kind Here In Hamilton County Case
One of the first cases of its kind in Hamilton County was tried before The State Industrial Board Tuesday with George Symons as defendant. George Whicker, the plaintiff, was injured while employed in Symons Sorghum Mill last fall. Symonds carried no liability insurance and is being sued for 2700 dollars. He claims the workmen's compensation act did not apply, saying he is a farmer manufacturing for his own use.

Flag Raising at First Christian Church Service

April Weather Was The Limit In Indiana This Month
Indiana recorded its coldest April since 1907 with a statewide mean of 49.8 degrees, below the 52.1 degree normal. Warm spells occurred mid month, but temperatures plunged below freezing on the 9th and 14th, and Salem saw a low of 11 above zero.
