Commissioners Refuse Interurban Road Access in Noblesville County
In Noblesville Indiana on March 16 1911 the county commissioners again refused the Delphi and Carmel Traction Company access to short sections of county highways in entering and leaving Carmel Sheridan and Westfield. They offered a conditional grant requiring four-fifths abutting property owner consent which the promoters rejected. The board also reviewed a gravel road in Fall Creek township and appointed viewers to decide on its feasibility with a report due at the April session.

The Christian Church morning sermon on temperance by Dr Swadener drew a fair audience. A larger night audience at the M E Church likewise praised his discussion of the issue. Frank Shaw city clerk of Noblesville died at Needlesville of tuberculosis at 47 after a year long illness. He previously served as court bailiff and was elected city clerk in 1909. He belonged to the Christian Church and the Red Men and was buried at Crownland Cemetery.

Aged Lady Mary J Ferguson Dies of Pneumonia
Mrs. Mary J Ferguson aged 77 died at her daughter H A Eudaly’s home Friday from pneumonia. A well known resident for over twenty five years she leaves three daughters Mrs Wm McGilvery of Lafayette Mrs W A Scott of Indianapolis and Mrs Eudaly. The remains were sent to Oxford Indiana for the funeral held Monday.

John T. Stephens, once noted as critically ill, died Friday morning at City Hospital Indianapolis from pneumonia following recent surgery. A Civil War veteran about 70, he leaves a wife, a daughter, and three sons. Funeral held at the Christian Church with Rev. Payne officiating.
