Hail Storms Visit County
Hamilton county was visited Sunday afternoon with one of the worst hailstorms ever reported in this locality. Jolietville Hortonville and Noblesville report hailstones as large as hen eggs and larger. Windows broken outbuildings covered with rubberoid roofing riddled by hail. Considerable rain and some wind accompanied the storm. In Sheridan a heavy rainfall occurred but no hail at that time though about 5 oclock in the morning a very similar storm swept over Sheridan and vicinity.

Sheridan Loses Suit Over Monon Railway Land

Hortonville Boy Hurt in Roosevelt Dam Explosion
Orville Pettijohn formerly of Hortonville was badly burned and suffered eye injuries in an explosion while working for the Government at the Roosevelt dam in Arizona. He is hospitalized in Phoenix under federal care. his mother is Mrs. Ella Pettijohn.

Kempton Photographer Shoots Himself in Tragic Death
J. J. Boehler a Kempton photographer died last night from a self inflicted gunshot wound. The 65 year old man who sold pictures and took enlargements had been estranged from his Anderson family. Authorities suggest domestic troubles as a possible motive.

Extra conductor injured when fall from freight train near Sheridan
Harry Keenan an extra conductor on fast freight No. 91 fell from the train on a sharp curve two miles southeast of Gondagton about 9 am Wednesday. His left foot was mashed near the ankle requiring near knee amputation. He was found by the Haskett family and brought to Sheridan where doctors treated him before he was taken to Indianapolis. He is about 35, with a family in the city.

A Good Cow and Calf Featured in Town Picture
Mr. John Paddock living a mile west of town raises Holstein cattle with a fine herd. The calf weighed one hundred ten pounds at birth and the cow now yields about forty pounds of milk daily.

Fall From Load of Hay Proves Fatal
Charles Eller of Hortonville died Wednesday morning from a brain concussion after a Monday fall from a hay load. The 50 year old farmer fractured his skull when the rope he used to rope the hay broke and he fell onto a concrete driveway. He left a wife and three young daughters.
