After a long career in Sheridan Couch retires from the grocery business and sells his store to marry Kincaid who will take charge. Couch will serve as the next postmaster once appointed, with a temporary vacation before confirmation.

Government report shows large feed surplus with wheat and carp figures below expectations but not bullish. Wheat reserves reach 250 million bushels year over year, pork and corn stocks high, livestock feeding drives profits while feed prices stay lower than last year.
Charley Stephenson of near Six Points was thrown from a wagon when a team of unbroken mules bolted, breaking his ankles and causing injuries. The accident occurred near the Ore Has kett farm two miles northwest of Horton. Stephenson, about 35, is the son of R. W. Stephenson of town.
At a special meeting on Monday night the town board bought an eight foot Studebaker street sweeper for use on brick streets. The machine costs 225 dollars and will be delivered immediately. Two horses will be needed to operate it. Previously streets were cleaned by hand but after expansions on Second and South Main last year the old method would be too costly. A. J. Erp will oversee street sprinkling for the coming season.
Mat Kirby aged 56 died at his southeast town home Sunday morning from cerebral hemorrhage. This was his third attack, the first occurring six years ago. Funeral and burial services were held at Spencer Cemetery Tuesday morning. He is survived by a wife and a daughter aged fourteen.
T D Lacy and family plan relocation to Huntingburg. Chas and wife will occupy the house on Second Street vacated by them.
