Boy Dragged by Wagon After Runaway Near Dillard
Perley Coffman fifteen year old son of Newton Coffman was badly bruised when a wagon ran away on frozen ground last Thursday. A loud noise caused the team to jerk the boy from the wagon and his clothes caught on the harness dragging him about a quarter mile. Front wheels passed over him once before George Alexander stopped the team. No bones were broken.

Death in Old Farm House Leaves 48 Year Old Man Dead
The body of William Rood, 48, was found in an abandoned log house on Walker Garver’s farm, three and a half miles south of Scircleville. He had visited Sheridan, rode part of the way home with Elias Cox on a milk wagon, and disappeared for hours before entering the old house. Authorities suspect the liquor found in Sheridan led to his death. Rood was not married and his funeral was held at his sister’s home, Mrs Miles V Harris, with burial at Duskey cemetery.
