Revolver Used After Altercation At Boone County School

In Boone county near Gadsden four outlaws attacked schoolmaster Mr Stephenson in charge. He defended with a revolver, shooting one assailant in the arm, while Stephenson suffered bruises and cuts but expects to resume duties soon with strong county support. The Sheridan News and the Ohio Farmer offer subscriptions.

McMurtry Estate Settled. Sheriff Sale of Remaining Property

Special commissioner appointed to sell remaining David McMurtry estate real estate. W J Eberwein sold twenty acres north of Sheridan to C E Bouse for 2650, appraised 2500. A Sheridan corner house and lot sold to Otis Haskett for 100, Hortonville house and lot brought 185, appraised 150. David McMurtry died 1902 leaving 400 acres plus town property and personal property. widow later married Paul Boone and died last year. Firemen ball moved to Red Men hall next Wednesday. admission 1 dollar per couple.

Appeal Taken In Sheridan Annexation Case

The circuit court will decide if Sheridan has authority to annex about fourteen acres. The appeal, filed Tuesday, comes from the Board of Commissioners and involves property owned by Mrs Blanche Pritsch Mrs Anna Boxley Martin and the Monon Railroad Company. Some property owners favor annexation while others are indifferent.

Wheat and corn stocks rise in March 1915 report

The March report from the Department of Agriculture shows higher wheat held by growers compared with March 1 last year and the five year average, with prices up from 1. to 1.42 dollars. Indiana corn stocks rise to 45 million bushels from 65 million, while oats drop sharply to about one ninth of last year’s Indiana total.
