Boys suffer injuries from toys and mishaps
Ernel Gregory was struck in the forehead by a tin can thrown by a playmate and needed a doctor. Edward Perry, knocked down by a car last week, hit his hand with an ax. Pierre Elliott, four, fell from a barn loft and suffered a severe head wound but is recovering after a few days.

Train Hits Wagon Load of Peas Near Canning Factory Crossing
A Monon passenger train struck a wagon loaded with peas driven by Fred Dunn at a crossing north of the Canning factory on Tenth street. Dunn escaped by leaping away and detaching the team as the locomotive could not stop in time. Parts of the wagon were carried several rods along the track.

First Wheat Harvest Opens in Hamilton County
Wheat harvest has begun in Hamilton county with T B Sohl cutting on June 13. This is the earliest wheat harvest date recorded in the county. The first car of new Oklahoma wheat sold in Kansas City at 85 cents per bushel. Harvesting and threshing will continue across regions until cold weather, with yields expected to be among the best in years.

Mrs Levi Mikels who drank concentrated lye last week with suicidal intent is improving. Doctors removed the poison from her stomach and her recovery is assured. A fall and winter lecture course of four numbers has been arranged with backing from twenty business and professional men of the town.

William Mendenhall died Tuesday evening at Hiram Holmes's residence from hemorrhage of the lungs. He was about 45, unmarried, and brother of the late Jackson Mendenhall. He had lived with his sister Mrs. Hiram Holmes. The funeral was held at West Grove yesterday.
