Shugart Funeral Held Saturday in Hazel Dell
Russell Shugart of the Hazel Dell neighborhood died by his own hand after reporting an assault on his wife. The 85 year old man’s funeral was held at Hazel Dell church with burial at Weaver cemetery. He left a widow three sons and a daughter. Authorities dropped the assault investigation and found $4800 in securities at his home. He owned 157 acres of land.

Churches Close Sunday Night In Sheridan Chautauqua Move
Sheridan pastors and chautauqua management decided to cancel regular Sunday meetings and host a mass free admission program at the chautauqua tent. The afternoon and night programs will align with the regular schedule to attract more attendees and promote the chautauqua movement. The tent is expected to draw a large crowd.
Scircleville Teen Teacher Struck by Unknown Car
Jesse Robinson 21 a Scircleville resident and country school teacher was knocked from a motorcycle by an unknown automobile Sunday afternoon and run over. He sustained injuries feared to be permanent as the driver fled the scene on the road south of Scircleville.

Motorcycle and Auto Collide Near Kirklin injures two youths
A Daytona morning crash at Kirklin involved Orin Seeney and Jess Robinson on a northbound motorcycle and Miss Ulm driving an automobile. Seeney escaped injury while Robinson suffered a broken arm and other injuries. Miss Ulm was unhurt and the motorcycle was demolished.

Wm. Milligan of Broad Ripple, who lived in Sheridan about twenty four years ago, died Sunday at Broad Ripple from stomach trouble. He was about 45, son of Mrs. R. J. Shy of Sheridan. Sisters are Mrs. A. M. Stephenson and Mrs. Thad Howard. He had two brothers in the west. Funeral held Wednesday.

Severe Hail Damages Tipton and Atlanta Crops
A Friday hail storm devastated Tipton and Atlanta areas with widespread crop and garden destruction. Fields of corn wheat oats and hay were ruined along with thousands of tomato plants at Kempton. apple trees denuded. State authorities are urged to assist replanting with sweet corn millet or buckwheat as partial substitutes.

Death Comes to Perry Riggs at Home Southeast of Sheridan
Perry C. Riggs 76 died last Friday at his home on the Lafayette road after several weeks of nephritis. He is survived by his widow two sons Emerson and Emery and two daughters Mrs Lon Reveal of Sheridan and Angeline at home. He was a highly respected citizen. Dedicate Turkey Run July 29. Government sets Sunday July 29 as the dedication day for the new state park Turk y Run and Governor Goodrich has sent word for Mr Palmer to attend in service uniform with his family.
