Hamilton county assessment totals include real and personal values

Noblesville Indiana July 17 1913 Auditor George Griffin sent the Hamilton county abstract to the Auditor of State. Total property value shows real estate 12045000 personal 2937103 and exemptions 600425 with all property valued around 1 1 40 000 higher than last year. The figures exclude corporations and 1280 polls exist in the county tax rolls.

Deliberate Fire Try At Abandoned Sheridan Ice House

Early Wednesday alarm drew Sheridan residents as Alta Cash and others stopped a small blaze at an old abandoned ice house behind a cement block. Investigators found kindling between walls and say an arson attempt may target local businesses including the Air Dome and a musical company. The state fire marshal will review the case for possible action.

New Sheridan Doctor Joins Practice In Cement Block

Dr. Walter Gipe of Indianapolis has opened a medical practice in Sheridan with offices in the Cement block once used by the late Dr. W. E. Cooper. His family moved into a new Ohio street residence built by F. B. Kercheval. A Wabash College graduate, he earned fame as a football star before finishing at Indiana Medical College.

Fine Imposed In Provocation Charge In Squire Lefebers Court

John Bennett of Atlanta was fined one dollar and costs in Squire Lefebers court Monday on a charge of provoke. The state was represented by County Prosecutor Geo. W. Osborn. The case of H. T. Miller charged with maintaining a nuisance was granted a change of venue and will be heard by Squire Driver of Arcadia.

Barn Destroyed by Lightning on Rawlings Farm

A barn on the Wm. Rawlings farm near Sheridan was struck during a severe Monday night storm, burning with an estimated loss of 1500 dollars. The barn valued at 1200 dollars was insured for half, with a tenant's horse and hay also lost. one horse escaped. The family discovered the fire as it neared collapse.

Appointment Confirmed to Stallion Registration Board

Governor Ralston appoints Chas McConnell of Bakers Corner to the Stallion registration board under a law from the last legislature. The three member board pays one secretary at a fixed salary, and two members receive four dollars per day plus expenses when on official duties. McConnell is a longtime member of the Indiana Draft Breeders Association.

Clarence Wicker Dies of Tuberculosis at 26

Clarence Wicker 26 of Westfield area died Saturday afternoon from tuberculosis after a year of marriage. He was survived by his wife, daughter of Fremont Moore, and he was a nephew of D. R. Elder. Funeral at Friends church Westfield Monday at 11 A M, with burial at Summit Lawn cemetery.
