Postal Workers Get Pay Increase Effective July 1
Postal employees across the country, including six carriers, postmaster and clerk, receive raises. Postmaster's pay rises from 2000 to 2300 yearly. a clerk's salary increases to 1400. rural carriers go from 1800 to 1980 for a standard 24 mile route. Local routes exceed standard by three miles, adding 136 dollars. each extra mile adds 30 dollars. Village carrier increases not yet learned but expected similar proportion.
Sheridan Population Drops Since 1900 Census
The Hamilton county census report shows Sheridan's population fell seven from 1910 and thirty four in twenty years. Mrs Harriet Ramseyer aged 35 died in Noblesville City Hospital from burns after a gasoline stove exploded in her Southport home on Saturday. Her husband and three year old daughter survived, along with her mother Lydia Kassebaum. Funeral held at Mrs Kassebaum's home with burial at Crown View Cemetery, Rev. Eddy officiated.

Small Sheridan interest sinks Indianapolis instrument factory bid

Sheridan will celebrate the Fourth of July next Monday night with a band concert and fireworks on Main Street. Cox and Cooper traded the Robert Wimborough sixty acres in Boone county once owned by Lembert Ogle to James Wainscott for a sixty in Adams township this week. Morton O. Lindley of Spicewood escaped a Sunday night car fire on the Noblesville Cicero road after the Ford touring car overheated. The blaze was put out in about a half hour with sand gravel and side curtains. Damage is estimated at about 25 dollars and is insured with a local company.
