At the home of the Grifia Woods on Second Street Sheridan Wednesday evening Mayme Wood married Warren Griffin of Plainfield Carmel guests included Mr and Mrs W G Griffin of Plainfield and Rev C E Parsons officiated. Newlyweds left for Carmel then Plainfield to start Griffin's business ventures.

Tin Star Detective in Indiana Indictment Claims

James Collins of Indianapolis planned to try to prove Franklin liquor causes suspects were agents of a larger syndicate. He alleged many involved were graduates of similar schools and would accept money and switch sides. The case was not brought to court and the Ledger notes unrelated moving news.

Smallpox Outbreak Reported With quarantines Countywide

A county health report notes one smallpox case near County Line. The Hayes daughter was diagnosed by a local physician and confirmed by health workers, prompting quarantine and precautions. Three new cases appeared in Cicero with several more in southern areas. In Sheridan residents are vaccinating per health officer guidance.

Diptheria Cases Reported in Boxley Village

Two new diphtheria cases are reported in Boxley, Miss Grace Bailey and the young son of Jesse Moore, neither in dangerous condition. The two younger children of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Paugher have recovered. Schools reopen this week but attendance is low due to the scare.

Surprise Party Honors John Eberwein at Uncle's Home

A birthday surprise was held Saturday night at J. P. Eberwein's country home for John Eberwein turning two. Friends joined in games and music before cake and oranges were served. Cake walk prizes went to Fred Beauchamp and Rollie Davenport. Court considers eight paragraph indictments in foot race cases

Argument Judge Elliot spent over nine hours Thursday listening to arguments in the fake foot race cases and then took the matter under advisement until the latter part of next week. The Court instructed both sides to submit briefs. If he holds even aneanf the eight paragraphs in the joint indictment to be good a trial will follow, but the defendants have signified their intention of appealing to the Supreme Court before submitting a trial. Ledgyer Mr and Mrs. R.H. Fristee entertain Prof. king of Darlington and Mr. Thos. L. Harris of this place, at their home, Sunday. Tom Malott is able to be up town again after an illness of several weeks.
