Barn Fire Destroys George Rawlings Farm Barn
A large 50 by 60 foot bank barn on the George Rawlings farm, about 11 to 14 miles southwest of Big Springs in Boone County, was destroyed Sunday evening by a fire of unknown origin. The loss includes 30 tons of hay and straw with total damages likely over 3000 dollars. Insurance covers 1500 on the building and 1000 on the contents. The Rawlings were away that day and returned shortly before the blaze.
