In Notiesville Tad and others file for guardianship as legal actions unfold over custody of four children. The Hamilton County historical display room hosts Osborn’s temporary office while a probate matter outlines custody, support, and court costs with later notes on state school apportionment.
Toe farmers of this township will hold a two day institute in February at the M E church. Mr Mahan of Liberty Indiana will talk on living on a rented farm. Kercheval urges attendance to learn better farming for profit with area Millikan as secretary. Dairymen may hear dairy speakers from Indiana Condensed Milk Company.
The J. O. Parr sale on Tuesday grossed 7300 dollars selling livestock grain and farm implements. Dairy cattle drew strong prices 26 head of milkers averaged 76 with a registered Hereford heifer at 126. A brood sow with pig sold for 49. Fred E Rogers and Carrie Moore of Horton wed Tuesday evening with plans to reside near Horton where Rogers will manage a farm.
A local group discusses Alabama as an agricultural state and plans for several residents to move south soon. W. Beam, Chas Wright, Harry Ridgeway, Albert Ross, Sylvain Owens and J.C. Haworth recently visited, with Owens and Ridgeway staying this week to assess prospects. They expect to buy or rent farms near Decatur and Huntsville along the Loa N. bearing cities, moving in spring. PLE Cook of Alabama advocates for his state.
After extensive talks the School Board and Town Board approve a new Sheridan school building to be ready next fall. An addition to the First Ward building is estimated at 16 600 dollars, with high school relocation to the new site and other grades moving to the old building. The town and school corporations fund the project, town contributing 10 000 dollars, with no township aid.
The John P Jessup property on the town east edge sold at public auction Monday afternoon to Charley Hutchens for 1680. Jessup and Hutchens expressed satisfaction with the result as about twenty buyers attended despite heavy rain. The 1 ½ acre site includes a six room house and improvements.
A lot of fourteen hogs weighing 306 pounds total changed hands last week from John Aaworth to Harey Parr. The sale was one of the best hog lots seen lately and fetched the top price. The Indianapolis Daily Sun and The Sheridan News are priced at $2.50 for a year.
